Terms of business - about our services
The Health Insurance Group is a trading name of Health and Protection Solutions Ltd. The Health Insurance Group’s permitted business is advising you on your insurance needs, arranging your cover with insurers and providing administrative support for any ongoing changes you have to make.
The Health Insurance Group is an independent intermediary and is owned by the AXA UK group of insurance companies. We act on behalf of the customer and are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). The FCA is the independent watchdog that regulates insurance intermediaries in the UK.
You can check this on the FCA’s Register by visiting their website www.fca.org.uk or by contacting the FCA on 0800 111 6768. Our Financial Services Register number is 308189.
We will advise and make recommendations for you after we have assessed your needs. We offer products from a range of insurers for private medical insurance and also for protection products. We arrange the policy with the insurer on your behalf and you do not pay us a fee for doing this. We receive commission from the insurer which is a percentage of the total annual premium.
It is your responsibility to provide complete and accurate information to insurers when you take out your insurance policy, throughout the life of your policy and when you renew your insurance. It is important that you ensure that all statements you make on proposal forms, claims forms and other documents are complete and accurate. Please note that if you fail to disclose any material information to your insurers, this could invalidate your insurance cover and could mean that part or all of a claim may not be paid.
Using Personal Data
In supplying services to you we may share information about you with credit reference agencies and other companies for fraud detection and/or money laundering prevention where we rely on one of the legal grounds under the UK data protection legislation. We will provide administration and assistance with your insurance arrangements, and may share your data with insurance providers. This may include, but is not limited to, where UK data protection legislation provides an exemption for insurance purposes, or where you have provided your specific consent (for example, where we are assisting you as our client in relation to a claim or claims payment or a representative has been appointed to act on your behalf such as the employer or a relative).
Please note, in some cases, if you do not provide your consent (or evidence of your consent for a third party to act for you) we may not be able to offer our insurance intermediary services to you.
From time to time we may send you information about similar products or services offered by the Health Insurance Group or other companies within the AXA Group (of which we are a part) either by post, telephone or e-mail but only if you consent for us to do so. If the product or service is offered by another company within our Group, we may pass your contact details to them so they can contact you directly but only in accordance with our legal obligations under UK data protection legislation.
Legal Rights: Under certain circumstances, you have rights under UK data protection legislation in relation to your personal data. These include:
- Request access to your personal data;
- Request correction of your personal data;
- Request erasure of your personal data;
- Object to processing of your personal data;
- Request restriction of processing your personal data;
- Request transfer of your personal data; and
- Right to withdraw consent.
